Position Summary

 

BLUE ICE is looking for an experienced Quality Manager, to join its Quality team based in Chamonix. Blue Ice develops and manufactures PPE equipment dedicated to climbing and mountaineering safety. Therefore Quality Management and Quality Assessment are at the heart of its design and manufacturing processes. This position is central to the company organization and has a close interaction with all department and stakeholders.

We are seeking a candidate who is both creatively and technically minded, who has a critical and analytic eye on product and enjoys problem solving. This position claims for Quality system and product testing knowledge, with a good understanding of the use of climbing and mountaineering equipment.

This position takes place in a small and highly specialized team where each individual is expected to be able to carry their projects in full autonomy.

 

Job responsibilities

 

Ø  Quality Management and Assessment:

·        Define and deploy the Global Company Quality System.

·     Develop the internal quality standards and the processes and tools to apply and monitor them.

·      In charge of the risk assessment of PPE products throughout their development and industrialization cycle.

·        Responsible for the qualification and certification process of all PPE products.

·     In charge of the external and internal auditing process and responsible for the evaluation of the supplier performances from a quality standpoint.

·      Participate with the engineering department in the development of the product test plan and the definition of internal requirements.

·       Participate in the PPE Normalization meetings of the CEN workgroup and UIAA.

·    Manage the intellectual property of the brand through patents, design and trade mark protection.

·   Involve in the review and release process of the technical documentation in collaboration with the engineering team.

·     Responsible for the internal document control and document release process. 

 

Ø  Quality control: 

·        Define and develop the Quality Control Plan for each product

·        Responsible for the application of the Quality Control Plan internally and at partner factories

·        Create and manage all documentation required for the application of the Quality Control Plan.

·        Manage the internal and external Quality Control team.

·       Responsible for the QC validation and disposition of all production lots

·        Perform internal quality control operations when needed.

·     Manage the maintenance and calibration process of the quality control tools

·    Own the Non-Conformity tracking process: work closely with R&D, production and development team to investigate, define root causes and action plan when required

 

Key Skills

 

·        Familiarity with ISO standard frame work including 9001

·        Knowledge in material science and product testing

·        Process oriented and minded

·        Familiarity with mountaineering and climbing safety equipment and its use

·        Ability to read technical drawings and GD&T

·        Familiar with basic inspection tools

·        Good ability to summarize and transmit information

·        Agility, be able to manage various topics in parallel

·        Structured, organized and good ability to document it’s work

·        Solid English required
